Privacy Policy
Your workouts are watched by your camera, not by us.
This explains what FitBolt collects, what it processes only on your device and never sees,
and what actually gets saved to your account. FitBolt is a fitness app by an independent developer
(package com.androselva1988.motion) — not a company with a legal team, just a plain account
of how the app actually works.
Information we collect
FitBolt asks you to create an account so your workouts, scans, and progress follow you between sessions. Here is everything that account can hold:
| What | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account info | Email address, display name | You, when signing up with email/password, Google, or Microsoft |
| Profile info | Body weight, daily calorie goal | You, entered by hand in your Profile |
| Workout activity | Exercise type, reps, duration, estimated calories burned, date/time | Recorded automatically while you play or train |
| Body Scan results | Height, BMI, body measurements — numbers only | Calculated on your device from a brief camera scan |
| Advertising identifier | Your device's ad ID, general device info, approximate location | Collected directly by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads — see Ads |
The Body Scan photo itself is never uploaded. FitBolt takes a photo locally to calculate your measurements, then keeps that photo on your device only for as long as the calculation takes. Only the resulting numbers — height, BMI, and so on — are saved to your account.
Camera & on-device processing
Every game and guided workout in FitBolt uses your camera to see your movement — that's the entire point of the app. Here's exactly what that does and doesn't mean:
What happens on your device Never leaves your phone
- Live camera frames are analyzed on-device (using Google's MediaPipe pose-detection models, bundled inside the app) to track your joints and count reps.
- Raw video frames are never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere — they exist only for the fraction of a second it takes to measure a pose, then are discarded.
The one exception: Squat Dash's optional replay
Squat Dash can record your screen so you can share a highlight afterward. That recording is saved to your device's local storage. It is only sent anywhere if you tap "Share Replay" and pick a destination yourself (Messages, Instagram, etc.) — FitBolt never uploads it automatically, and you can decline the recording permission and still play the game.
How we use information
- To run your account — sign you in, keep your settings, and show your own history back to you.
- To calculate calories, BMI, and progress from the activity you log.
- To match you a recommended workout plan or nutrition plan based on your BMI category.
- To keep the app working and diagnose problems when something breaks.
FitBolt itself does not build an advertising profile of you, and never sells your account data to advertisers. Ads in the app are served directly by Google AdMob on your device — see Ads for what that involves.
Ads
FitBolt shows ads through Google AdMob to help keep the app free to use. Today that's a single full-screen ad shown at a natural break point — after you finish a workout or a game round. It never shows mid-exercise, and never more than once every few minutes.
Your consent choice
Depending on where you are, Google's own consent form asks whether you're okay with personalized ads (based on your interests) or would rather see non-personalized ones. You can change that choice anytime through the privacy options control the consent form itself provides.
What Google AdMob collects
To serve and measure ads, Google AdMob collects your device's advertising identifier, general device information, and approximate location directly — this is Google's own data collection, governed by Google's Ads Privacy & Terms, not something FitBolt stores or has access to itself.
Third-party services
FitBolt is built on a small number of services that process data on our behalf. We don't run our own servers for your account data — Google's Firebase platform does:
- Firebase Authentication & Firestore (Google) — stores your account, profile, workout history, and Body Scan results. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email with FitBolt per your consent.
- Microsoft identity platform — same idea, if you choose "Continue with Microsoft".
- Health Connect (Android) / Apple HealthKit (iOS) — if you connect them, FitBolt reads sleep, heart rate, blood pressure, and step data live to show in your Health Status card. This is read-only, requires your explicit permission, and is not stored on our servers — see Storage & security.
- Google AdMob — serves the ads described in Ads, and collects device/advertising data directly to do so.
Storage & security
Account data, workout history, and Body Scan results are stored in Google's Firebase infrastructure, encrypted in transit. Access to your data is scoped to your own signed-in account.
Wearable health data (sleep, heart rate, blood pressure, steps) is read live each time you open your Health Status card and is not written to our database — it exists in the app only while you're viewing it.
Your choices
- Camera & recording permissions — grant or revoke these anytime in your device Settings. Workouts that need pose tracking won't work without camera access, but the rest of the app will.
- Health Connect / HealthKit — connect or disconnect anytime from your device's own health-permissions settings.
- Ad personalization — change your consent choice anytime through the privacy options control in Google's own consent form, or your device's ad-personalization settings.
- Edit or correct your profile — anytime from Profile → Edit Profile.
- Delete your account and data — FitBolt doesn't yet have an in-app delete button. Email us at the address below and we'll delete your account and every record tied to it.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists, so your history stays available to you. If you request deletion (see above), we remove your account record, profile, workout history, and Body Scan results within 30 days.
Children's privacy
FitBolt is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If FitBolt starts collecting or using data differently, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. We won't reduce your rights over data we've already collected without telling you.
